Peter von Niederhäusern studied Computer Science and received his B.Sc. and subsequently his Engineering Diploma (Dipl. Ing. FH) from the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH) in Biel in 2008. Peter later joined the Computer Perception and Virtual Reality Lab of the BFH HuCE Institute as a Research Assistant. In 2009 he started his Biomedical Engineering studies at the Universities of Bern and Basel and finished his M.Sc. thesis in the domain of age related macula degeneration analysis in close collaboration with the Research Group of Prof. Dr. Philippe Cattin.
Since fall 2015 Peter is a Ph.D. student with the CIAN Research Group of Prof. Dr. Philippe Cattin at the Department of Biomedical Engineering of the University of Basel. His current work involves the development of novel approaches in the domains of scintigraphy and augmented reality to facilitate biopsy interventions and to enable better minimally invasive navigation techniques.
