Competence Cluster Clinical Biomechanics
This competence cluster unites research projects in the field of biomechanics. It is one of the different firm and vivid links between the DBE and the hospitals, as it brings together various constellations of surgeons, biomechanics, and engineers at the CADENCE Lab at the DBE, the gait lab at the UKBB, and the ORs there and at the University Hospital. Here, translation is not merely a goal, but the very basis of thw work. Projects are CADENCE, Clinical Biomechanics in Paedeatric Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Modelling, Computational Spine Biomechanics, Functional Biomechanics, Spine Surgery & Research, and Translational Spine Research and Biomechanics. As part of the CADENCE Project, the Bio-Inspired RObots for MEDicine-Lab is also doing research in this field.
