David Koch grew up in Oberentfelden in the canton of Aargau and attended high school at the Alte Kantonsschule in Aarau before moving to Basel to study.

"The idea of being able to contribute to improving patient treatment really motivated me and was very close to my heart." says Dr. sc. med. David Koch.

This week, David is featured in the University of Basel “In Focus” series. He works as a postdoctoral researcher in the Translational Spine Research & Biomechanics group under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Cordula Netzer.

A former student representative and member of the DBE community, David reflects on how his passion for sport and his original plan to become a teacher ultimately led him to movement science and biomechanics.
