The 7th DBE Research Day – Translational Through and Through!

7th DBE Research da

On September 7, the 7th DBE Research Day took place with about 200 participants at the Zentrum für Lehre und Forschung at the University Hospital Basel. 25 speakers presented their current research and their plans for the future. In addition, 50 posters gave a broad and differentiated impression of the lively and constantly growing research culture at the DBE.

New this year was a section called "Translational Tandems", in which a clinician and a researcher presented a joint project, thus exemplifying the translational activities of the DBE. The audience was introduced to Greek deities and the concept of time in Renaissance art, but there was also singing and bloodshed. In this way, the bond between DBE and the USB and UKBB was highlighted, but also the fact that daring research projects have more chance of success if the researchers have a connection to each other.

The new format was so well received that it has already been scheduled for future research days at the DBE. One more reason to save the date of the next one on 30 August 2022.
