Cardiopulmonary Physiology & Mechanical Support (CPAMS)

The Cardiopulmonary Physiology and Mechanical Support (CPAMS) Research Group studies how the heart and lungs interact in critically ill patients, especially those supported by mechanical circulatory and respiratory devices.

By combining clinical research, large animal and in vitro experiments, and computational modelling, we develop better ways to optimise the use of life-support technologies at the bedside to improve patient outcomes.
