Abstract
This talk will explore a number of approaches to designing and fabricating robots that can robustly interact with the environment through embodied intelligence. The applications and new capabilities enabled by these robots will be discussed, with a focus on sustainability and agricultural applications.
Biosketch
Josie Hughes is an Assistant Professor at EPFL where she established the CREATE Lab in 2021. Her lab focuses on developing robots that can exploit Embodied Intelligence to robust interact with real world scenario. This includes dexterous manipulators, morphing locomoting robots, soft arms, and more unusual form factors including growing, splitting or other physically evolving robotic systems.
