Prof. em. Dr. Kappos, one of the founding members our Department, has been awarded the 2026 John Dystel Prize for Multiple Sclerosis Research—one of the field’s highest honors.

The prize recognizes his outstanding and pioneering contributions to the research and treatment of multiple sclerosis. Over several decades, he has helped shape the development of modern therapies and made a lasting impact on clinical research in neuroimmunology.
