The Innovation Office has awarded a 50'000 CHF Propelling Grant to support the EvoNav project, led by Prof. Raphael Guzman.

The research focuses on bringing the world’s first single-use, sterile neuronavigation tracking system, iVation, into clinical practice for minimally invasive external ventricular drain (EVD) insertion.

This groundbreaking approach aims to deliver unprecedented accuracy in EVD placement, significantly reducing the risk of catheter misplacement and the need for multiple insertion attempts—an important advance for patient safety and outcomes.

The EvoNav project is a collaborative effort between University Hospital Basel and MEDivation, combining clinical expertise and technological innovation to improve neurosurgical care.

Congratulations to the grant winning team, which also includes Daniel de Wilde and Dr. Attill Saemann.
