Arsham received B.Sc. Degree in Physics from the National University of Arak, Iran. Afterward, he finished his master studies in the field of Photonics at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences in Zanjan (IASBS). For his Master thesis, he joined the Optical Metrology group and focused on fabrication and calibration of Spectral-Domain OCT in the visible spectral range. Besides his master thesis, he was also involved in the development of Digital Holography Microscopy and Time-Domain OCT.
In April 2018, he joined the Minimally Invasive Robot-Assisted Computer-guided LaserosteotomE project at the University of Basel in Switzerland as a Ph.D. candidate. His Ph.D. project is Development of a Miniaturized Long Range OCT for Smart Laser Surgery to monitor the cutting depth and dynamic changes of tissue in the real-time. Furthermore, Integration of endoscopic OCT and endoscopic laser ablation is the second part of his project to enhance the performance of the monitoring system.
