Biomedical Engineering is the application of natural science principles and techniques to the medical field. It seeks to close the gap between basic science and clinical applications leading to fascinating interdisciplinary research.
Since 2014, the Department of Biomedical Engineering (DBE) has been offering a doctoral program for its PhD students, providing advanced educational tools to complement the existing doctoral supervision. Alongside their research at the DBE, students are offered a wide range of courses and trainings to create a unique career profile based on their needs and interests, which will then be an asset on the job market.
As of August 1, 2025, we enter a transition phase towards a more ambitious project by integrating our doctoral program into the Graduate School Medical and Health Science.
