The first semester of the Master studies in Biomedical Engineering gears towards the acquisition of basic knowledge in the module Biomedical Engineering and either one of the two modules depending on the background of the bachelor degree:

a) Basics in Human Medicine
b) Mathematics

Students with a mathematical/non-medical background have to follow the courses of module a: Basics in Human Medicine while students with a medical/life-science background are obliged to follow the courses of module b: Mathematics.

With this it will be ensured that all students obtain the necessary medical and mathematical knowledge and thus be able to attend the biomedical technical courses of the major module in the second semester.
