Prof. Philippe Cattin’s Research in the DKForum
The last 2024 edition of the DKForum saw Philippe Cattin’s research on AI-assisted image analysis in neuroradiology front and center.
The feature sees the algorithm developed and trained by Cattin and his team holding great potential for further applications and being just the beginning of AI-supported diagnosis and therapy development. For example, it seems possible that the algorithm can be further developed beyond its application in Multiple Sclerosis therapies for the evaluation of all diseases of the white matter of the brain.
The authors of the article underline the successful interdisciplinary and inter-institutional collaboration to which this innovation is due. "It is exemplary when two university departments - DBE and DKF - work together with three clinical departments - Neuroradiology, Neurology and D & ICT - to advance clinical practice at the highest technical level. Purely academic and financed by foundation funds."
