DBE PhD Day 2023: A Space Walk
This year’s PhD Day of the DBE took place on 5 May at DBE’s new premises in Allschwil. The building, internally metaphorized as a spaceship, served a basis for space walks through some of our labs: 3D Print Lab, Robotics Lab, Optics Lab, VR Stations and our shared Biosafety Labs.
After every one of the 35 participants had returned safely to the mothership, we had lunch and got to know each other on a personal level playing table football, Jenga and Uno. Then we listened to a phantastic keynote by expert in personal branding, team branding and self-marketing Dr. Petra Wüst, before we had a very first barbeque in our new spaceship.
David "Captain Future" Koch and Felix "Flash Gordon" Erb were elected as representatives of the PhD students at the DBE.
