New DBE Spin-Off: Bottneuro AG
A new spin-off called Bottneuro AG was founded on January 8, 2021. Its team develops plant-based, ultra-thin neural implants for the spine and brain under the leadership of Bekim Osmani and Tino Töpper, with Raphael Guzman acting as clinical expert. Patients suffering from chronic neuropathic pain, Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases will benefit from its NENI® neuromodulation technology. This project is supported by the Gebert Rüf Stiftung.
Bottneuro AG is a deep-tech spin-off company from the University of Basel with an IP portfolio related to the core polymer thin-film technology. The team can fall back on several years of experience in management, product design, marketing, business development, polymer nanotechnology and neurosurgery.
