SNSF Grant for Claudia Lenz
Congratulations to Claudia Lenz on the SNSF-granted project «The role of tissue anisotropy in quantitative MRI of the human brain». The project was applied for under the Weave agreement, with SNSF as lead agency, and will be conducted in collaboration with Prof. Christoph Birkl from the Medical University of Innsbruck.
Both partners receive funding for 4 years (CHF 590'838 for Basel, 383'237 Euro for Innsbruck). Their research will shed light on the origin of anisotropy in quantitative MRI of the brain and will work towards accurate mapping of tissue composition in patients and elimination of systematic biases in current diagnostic imaging.
