Research interest: Assessing PP severity is usually performed with the Palmoplantar Psoriasis Area and Severity
Index (PPASI), which measures erythema, induration and desquamation. We want to analyze how well could this
severity index be approximated in clinical practice with a simple count of the visible pustule and brown spot objects
(with brown spots corresponding to older pustules).

Applications: The PPASI assessment of a patient is a repetitive, time intensive process requiring expert medical
knowledge. It is important to monitor a patient’s PP disease evolution and treatment efficacy but does not bring
satisfaction or added value to clinicians. Therefore an automated equivalent to PPASI would be beneficial to clinicians.
