Rauter and Cattin on Swiss National Radio

DBE

Swiss Radio and Television SRF visited the DBE to find out why Switzerland is so successful in medical technology innovation. Professors Georg Rauter and Phillippe Cattin provided answers and presented examples from robotics and artificial intelligence.

Switzerland is the world's third most innovative economy in the field of medical technology. In her feature, SRF journalist Irène Dietschi sees several different reasons for this success: centuries of experience in micromechanics in the watchmaking industry, huge networks of diverse collaborators that attract even more "smart and inventive people", and the courage and support to create bold spin-off companies in order to complete translation processes.
