Julia Wolleb studied mathematics at the University of Basel, with main focus on Algebra and Numerics. During her studies, she also worked as a teaching assistant for the Mathematical Institute. She received her Master’s degree in 2018, with a thesis at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute in the Mathematical Epidemiology group.

In 2019, after a six-month internship at an insurance company in actuarial mathematics, she started her Ph.D. studies at the Center for medical Image Analysis & Navigation at the Department of Biomedical Engineering of the University of Basel. The focus of her Ph.D. project lies on finding new deep learning algorithms for anomaly detection and localization in medical images.
