As part of the University of Basel’s Core Facilities network, the Department of Biomedical Engineering (DBE) provides advanced services accessible to both internal researchers and external users. These include:

• 3D-Print Lab
• CADENCE: Gait & Motion Analysis
• Microcalorimetry
• MiNa: Micro- & Nanotomography

In addition, the DBE operates a dedicated Service Unit for Material Testing.

Our Core Facilities offer state-of-the-art infrastructure, expert support, and unique opportunities to advance translational research.

Beyond offering specialized services, our Core Facilities conduct their own research, develop innovative workflows, and provide quality testing for medical tools and applications. They collaborate extensively across the Medical Faculty and with a wide range of external partners, including universities, research institutes, hospitals, and industry leaders.
